Patricia Seiler

Patricia is the greatest improv comedian to never grace a stage. If you talk to her for a minute—maybe less—she'll make you smile, if not laugh out loud. And she does it all with heart. This combination of humor and love served her well as a single mother caring for three children. Over the years, she created characters, stories, and songs that can still make her now-grown children nostalgic for car rides and bedtime tuck-ins filled with love and laughter. Now, as Nana, Patricia finds joy in sharing her creativity with her grandson.

Patricia always dreamed of being a writer. But she put those dreams aside to focus on her family. When she was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in 2016, she knew it was time to share her writing—to leave a legacy for her children and grandson.

How I Got My Big Toe Stuck in My Nose was originally sung to her children. In the song, the poor boy is left stuck in quite an uncomfortable position. The song was expanded for the book by her daughter, Melissa Woodworth. The story proves that getting out of a sticky situation can be entertaining.

Melissa Woodworth

Melissa has a degree in creative writing. She's worked as a copy editor and then writer for more than a decade. When her mom became sick, she wanted to help her achieve her dream of being a published author, while realizing her own dream of writing children's books. For years, her mom said they should write something together. And now was the time.

Sharing the silly, smile-inducing story that is How I Got My Big Toe Stuck In My Nose was a no-brainer. Melissa is beyond honored to create her first children's book with her mom. And she's thrilled that the world will come to know the wise, witty, hilarious woman she has loved her whole life.

You make me laugh.
